Atomium
The Atomium in Brussels, together with manneken pis, is the figurehead of Brussels. During the World Expo of 1958, this special structure was placed and never disappeared again. Initially, the spheres were to be made of steel, but during the construction of this special 'building' it was decided that the spheres would be made of aluminium. About 15 years ago, the construction was completely renovated and a number of aluminium parts were replaced by stainless steel. The Atomium offers a nice time to spend part of the day and is currently open to the public. Do you have a morning or afternoon off? Visit the 'must-see' the Atomium. It is only 11.4 km from the DC Hotel Drogenbos.
